Region: Arefu character breakdownAuthor: Author | Filed under: Guides & Hints
Brailee Ewers: Brailee Ewers, born in 2241, lives in Arefu in 2277.
Brailee is 36 years old and married to Ken Ewers. She is a bit shy and it doesn’t help that she rarely gets to speak to anyone, thanks to her overprotective husband. She is warm and compassionate. In recent months, with The Family murdering all of Arefu’s Brahmin, and torment going on, she has created a much more pleasant pre-war world inside her head.
Brailee has several conversation options, but they aren’t very useful. When talking to Brailee it is obvious she is the only person in the Capital Wasteland that is “living” somewhere else.
After completing the Blood Ties quest, she rewards you by baking you “cookies”, as she calls them (which are nothing more than tin cans).
Davis West: Davis West is an inhabitant of Arefu in 2277.
Davis is married to Matilda West and father to Ian West and Lucy West. The family settled down in Arefu, then Lucy West proceeded to migrate to Megaton, leaving Ian and her family behind.
When you first talk to Lucy West in Megaton she will ask if you are willing to deliver a note to her family in Arefu. If you ask her how much you’ll get paid, she says Davis will happily pay you. When you arrive to Arefu you are asked by Evan King to check on every resident of Arefu. When you go inside the West Residence you see Davis and his wife lying dead on the floor. With a high enough Medicine skill, you can reveal they were bitten on the neck, and that the bite goes all the way to the bone. Later on, it’s revealed that Ian was the one who killed both his parents.
Evan King: Evan King is a resident of Arefu and is the lone defender of the town in the year 2277.
Evan King was born in 2222.
He is skilled in explosives and does not hesitate to shoot any prospective attackers. Evan King is spoken of rather disparagingly by the town’s residents, who heavily criticize his inaction with the recent raids The Family has carried out on Arefu.
When you arrive to Arefu to deliver Lucy West’s letter, he will ask you to check onto the residents’ welfare. Upon returning to him with news of the West’s violent deaths, he will send you to search for Ian West, who was taken away by The Family. He speculates as to three possible locations of where their base is situated. Upon returning Ian to Arefu and making a deal with the Family to protect the town, Evan will allow you to make use of the weapons he has stored.
Upon completion of the Blood Ties quest, there will be an extra dialogue option while talking to Evan King. If you choose this option, he will give you one of the many alcoholic drinks for free. You will be able to use this option to gain the drinks as many times as you would like.

Karen Schenzy was born in 2254.
